Each season, the Festival receives for consideration, between 50 and 100 new scripts from "Maryland Playwrights"  Of this number, approximately 50% are chosen to receive public rehearsed readings. Either at the BPF's "Marathon Readings of New Plays", which take place on Saturday's throughout the year, or at the readings held following our regular monthly business meetings.  

 The Festival needs experienced Directors who can cast, rehearse, and direct these readings. We are looking for directors who are comfortable directing new works, who want to be involved with the creative process and who have a wide pool of contacts from which to draw for casting. The Festival selects the Directors, and the Directors are responsible for casting the reading.
